In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Navigator are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The Navigator has standard Post Collision Braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Navigator has standard Reverse Brake Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Bentayga doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The Navigator’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Bentayga.

The Navigator’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Navigator and the Bentayga have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Navigator comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck. The Bentayga’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

Lincoln’s powertrain warranty covers the Navigator 3 years longer than Bentley covers the Bentayga. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Bentayga ends after only 3 years.

The Navigator’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Bentayga’s (5 vs. 3 years).

There are over 11 times as many Lincoln dealers as there are Bentley dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Navigator’s warranty.

The Navigator has a standard “limp home system” to keep drivers from being stranded if most or all of the engine’s coolant is lost. The engine will run on only half of its cylinders at a time, reduce its power and light a warning lamp on the dashboard so the driver can get to a service station for repairs. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a lost coolant limp home mode, so a coolant leak could strand you or seriously damage the truck’s engine.

On the EPA test cycle the Navigator gets better fuel mileage than the Bentayga V8 running its gasoline engine (15 city/22 hwy vs. 14 city/21 hwy).

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Lincoln Navigator uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The Bentayga requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Navigator has 3.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the Bentayga Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (23.6 vs. 19.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Navigator has 1.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the Bentayga’s standard fuel tank (23.6 vs. 22.5 gallons).

The Navigator has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Lincoln Navigator higher (6 out of 10) than the Bentley Bentayga (2). This means the Navigator produces up to 27.7 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Bentayga every 15,000 miles.

A 10-speed automatic is standard on the Lincoln Navigator, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Bentayga.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Navigator has standard 22-inch wheels. Smaller 21-inch wheels are standard on the Bentayga. The Navigator Black Label’s optional 24-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the Bentayga.

The Lincoln Navigator’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Bentley Bentayga only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Navigator’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Bentayga doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Navigator’s wheelbase is 4.6 inches longer than on the Bentayga (122.5 inches vs. 117.9 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Navigator is 1.6 inches wider in the front and .6 inches wider in the rear than on the Bentayga.

The Navigator uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Bentayga doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Navigator offers optional seating for 8 passengers; the Bentayga can only carry 5.

The Navigator has 63.1 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Bentayga (172.1 vs. 109).

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Navigator when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the tailgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The Bentayga doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

The Navigator’s cargo area provides more volume than the Bentayga.

The Navigator’s available rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Bentayga w/Four Seat Comfort Specification doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

The Navigator’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The Bentayga’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

Maximum trailer towing in the Bentley Bentayga is limited to 7165 pounds. The Navigator offers up to a 8700 lbs. towing capacity.

The Navigator with optional equipment can be flat towed on all four wheels (dinghy towed), allowing recreational vehicle owners to bring it with them on the road. When they reach their destination, the Navigator can be unhitched and driven around locally. The Bentayga can’t be towed flat on the ground.

A Trailer Sway Control is standard on all models of the Navigator, using the AdvanceTrac® sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Bentayga Hybrid doesn’t offer a trailer sway program.

If the windows are left open on the Navigator the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Bentayga can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Navigator’s exterior PIN entry system. The Bentayga doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Navigator has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Bentayga only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The Lincoln Navigator has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the driver’s visor. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Bentley charges extra for Homelink® on the Bentayga.

The Navigator has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

A group of representative automotive journalists from North America selected the Navigator as the 2018 North American Truck of the Year. The Bentayga has never been chosen.

The Lincoln Navigator outsold the Bentley Bentayga by over 29 to one during 2024.
